Miles (1839-1925, U.S. Army, then a colonel) following Sitting Bull's death at the hands of the Crows on December 16, 1876 on the Tongue River in Montana; inherited by General Miles' children, Cecelia Miles Reber (Mrs. Samuel K. Reber, 1869-1952) and Major Sherman Miles (1882-1966); donated to MAI in 1925.
