Excavated between 1897 and 1924 by amateur archaeologist Augusto Capdeville (1864-1932); donated or sold to the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural (Santiago, Chile) at an unknown date; acquired by MAI via an exchange with the Museo National which was negotiated by Samuel K. Lothrop (1892-1965, MAI staff member) during the MAI's Thea Heye-Lothrop Expedition to Chile in 1930.
