This exquisite belt is made of loom-woven dyed bird quill. Worn by both Denésoliné men and women, such belts were made by women who skillfully wove dyed and moistened quills over and under warp threads on a small loom. The warp threads of the resulting quillwork were then anchored to a hide band forming a support for the quillwork.
