Comanche leggings
ca. 1890
Deer hide, ochre, glass beads, horsehair, feathers, silk
82 x 33 cm
Collected by Mark R. Harrington

Comanches’ reputation for extremely fine quality deer hide clothing is exemplified by these leggings. Though characteristic of Southern Plains men’s leggings, the long, finely cut, twisted fringe is especially superbly executed on these yellow-painted leggings.
